Ayahuasca.
Ayahuasca, meaning “vine of the spirits”, is a psychedelic brew made from various Amazonian plants. It has been used for centuries, perhaps longer, in religious rituals guided by shamans, which are said to enable contact with the dead. As interest in ayahuasca has grown in the West, tourists seeking spiritual experiences are increasingly traveling to Peru, Ecuador, and Brazil to take part in ceremonies.
Many who seek experiences of personal growth with ayahuasca report a sense of connectedness and compassion with others around them. Some report spiritual awakenings that lead to long-term, stable perspective shifts. This is likely a result of achieving a particularly intense level of introspection that leads to profound self-awareness and clarity regarding personal issues and belief systems.
This site provides a platform for BIPOC communities who have experienced Ayahuasca, and other psychedelics, to boldly share their experiences.
