What should I expect on this retreat?
This 6-8 day retreat will take place amid the lush and beautiful landscape of Ecuador where you will explore nature while healing you body, mind, and spirit. You will experience this plant medicine while submerged in the depths of the Amazonian Shuar culture. We will share knowledge about plants and experience the healing potential that our Mother has to offer us.
This is a one of a kind healing retreat is open to all individuals who identify as People of Color. To keep the experience intimate and safe, we limit these life changing experiences to a total of seven participants. You must be ready to participate in medicine ceremonies, and keep in mind - this is not a vacation it is a jungle journey!
Due to the powerful nature of such ceremonies, our Ayahuasca and San Pedro retreat focuses on marrying high-quality rest and relaxation periods with intense plant medicine experiences. This is why we provide you with a superb natural setting, intuitive, supportive staff and high-quality nutrition throughout your stay. We do, after all, want your stay here with us to be just as much of a once in a lifetime experience as the Ayahuasca and San Pedro experiences themselves.
While providing essential home comforts such as comfortable lodging and freshly prepared gourmet vegetarian or vegan meals each day, our Ayahuasca and San Pedro retreat is otherwise one of only a handful of authentic treatment centers in the entirety of South America. While promoting physical wellness through deliciously prepared (and organic) vegetarian food, we also facilitate travel to a genuine Ayahuasca and San Pedro ceremony site on the Jurumbaino river surrounded by rain forest. There, our guests are given the opportunity to spend the evening with an authentic local shaman. The next day, you will be escorted back home to rest, reflect and prepare for your next ceremony. Even better, at all times you will be attended to by one of our very own local guides and translators. Note: Airfare and airport transportation to/from the retreat site are not included.
Will there be opportunities to explore Ecuador?
We provide overnight Ayahuasca ceremonies with indigenous Shuar shamans in the Ecudorian rainforest and return the next morning to a specially prepared Ayahuasca diet. On days in-between ceremonies, you can rest and reflect or sight-see and enjoy one of the most beautiful places on earth. There is the sacred Shuar waterfall La Yantsa, the majestic Sangay volcano, the Upano river, legendary and mysterious Tayos cave, the rainforest and many other displays of nature to experience and enjoy. Have your cleansing, healing, spiritual journey with an incredible shaman and have a relaxing small vacation at the same time and most importantly on an affordable budget.
Meet Our Shaman
Savio is a traditional Uwishin Ayumpum physician with over 15 years of experience. He began his training in his teens and has practiced traditional medicine independently since he was 22 years old. His training has been a combination of traditional learning from his Shuar community and training at the Universidad Central del Ecuador. Savio has a long family tradition of traditional medicine and was called to his profession by ancestral forces. His work includes healings of all kinds working with the traditional medicines of his lineage and training. Savio lives in Macas, Ecuador and has worked with the LVDR center for over 5 years.
